Founded in 1982, we are a private, state
approved day school offering academically at risk, learning
disabled and / or A.D.D. students grades 9-12 a school established
especially for them. The need for a highly individualized
academic program was the guiding force that led to the formation
of St. Christopher Academy. It is this force that
forms the core of our curriculum and its implementation.
At St. Christopher Academy, all children are given
the opportunity to reach their full potential. "I will
do everything possible to ensure students' success and happiness"
Darlene Jevne, the SCA Director says. "Our goal
is to provide programs that allow every child to learn in
his or her own style, and at their own rate".
St.
Christopher Academy was featured in "MEET THE
BUSINESS", published in Seattle's Child, Eastside
Parent, and Puget Sound Parent.
MISSION STATEMENT
St. Christopher Academy is a unique, independent school for students with specific learning disabilities and difficulties, grades 9-12. The school provides an excellent educational environment, which fosters creativity, challenge, safety, and individual growth for students. We provide small classes and specialized staff to teach students the skills needed to learn independently, engage in self-advocacy and gain confidence in their academic ability. St. Christopher Academy strives to prepare its students to succeed academically and socially to their full potential.
