To whom it may concern,

All parents hope for a school that provides their child a platform for success. St. Christopher Academy has been such a school for my daughter.

My daughter transferred to St. Christopher Academy after her sophomore year because her attention deficit disorder caused academic struggles and failures at her prior school.  She is now a senior and will attend a community college next year.  Afterwards, she plans to complete her college education at a four-year university. Even though switching her to St Christopher Academy required additional expense I believe that the investment has been well worth it.

Small classes and excellent teaching are hallmarks of St. Christopher Academy. In its Project Access class, St. Christopher Academy helps the student learn how to learn by teaching skills such as time management and organization.  Because this is all done in an atmosphere of respect, my daughter has felt more empowered and now uses her daily planner as a means of staying organized and meeting deadlines.

I am thankful for the help and encouragement that my daughter has received from the caring and capable teachers at both St. Christopher Academy and Seattle Lutheran High School. Taking some of her classes directly from Seattle Lutheran High School has also allowed my daughter to enjoy a more typical high school experience than that normally provided by a specialized school.

In addition, Seattle Lutheran’s extracurricular activities are open to all. My daughter has greatly enjoyed playing soccer and running on the track team. Participating in sports has enriched her life in many ways.

St. Christopher Academy has worked out well for my daughter.  I believe that her individual needs have been met in a manner superior to what I could have found elsewhere.

Sincerely,
Carolyn Mattern
